What would you do if you didn’t have to rely on your resume to get you jobs?
Hi there! I build software products by day, make videos about career stuff and imagine businesses by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have some kids, and I like helping veterans and friends.
I graduated from the US Naval Academy and they handed me the coolest job in the world: Navy Diver and Bomb Technician. I thought I really had my sh*t together at 21. I believed I was invincible and scoffed at most advice from old people (anyone over 35).
Fast forward after 8 years of playing with explosives and boats, I got out of the Navy and stepped into the Great Recession with nothing but the promise that my background was special (it was not).
No one was hiring.
Not that I even knew how to find an open job back then.
